I did not get to see or talk to Jeremy Iversen. #BookFest #Fail

So … one of the first books I read on my Sony Reader was a book called High School Confidential and it was written by this guy Jeremy Iversen and it talks about his experiences at my high school.

This was after I graduated.

I was a little excited because I recognized his name on the LATFOB author guide and wrote his appearances on my list of things to try and do.  Sadly, I wasn’t able to go to either of them and so here I am…without a signed copy of High School Confidential nor am I able to talk to him about what it was like.

It’s been a while since I’ve read the book, so I can’t quite qualify it but as I recall it felt like something I could actually see happening at the school.  I’ve heard interesting things about the person who was principal at the time.  I’m assuming if I say what I heard it could be libel.  Unless of course it’s real in which case what the hell was the school board thinking.  (When I say say, I mean publish on my blog, not literal speech which would be slander).

Perhaps several decades down the line we can compare the book with the predecessor that perhaps inspired HSC.  I of course mean to reference Fast Times at Ridgemont High.  I recently read that book and found much to my surprise that the movie is actually a very faithful adaptation of the book.  The book is hard to find so it did take me a while before I got my hands on it.
