Bookswaps are Awesome! But I went overboard.

IMG_5480A little while back my book club the ya book council held a book swap at the Glendale Public Library  Montrose Branch and I was super excited because I wanted to get rid of some titles I had accumulated over the years that I didn’t really want to hold on to.  I live amongst stacks of books… which is scary because I am consuming most of my books in electronic mediums.

A person like me hopes to leave a bookswap with fewer books than the amount they arrived with and it’s possible that I succeeded but it’s very close.  I brought the twelve volumes of Death Note, four Wimpy Kid books and three Origami Yoda books (I did give away another one of those later that if I had previously discovered would have brought with me).  I did bring other things but I don’t really remember what they were (Tunnels, Days of Dark Days?)

And here’s the haul list:

  1. William Sleator’s The Phantom Limb (ARC)
  2. Mike Mullin’s Ashen Winter (ARC)
  3. The Story of English
  4. Christopher Moore’s A Dirty Job (I may own it but just in case)
  5. Famous Suicides of the Japanese Empire (wait really?)
  6. John Knowles’ A Separate Peace (in hardcover!)
  7. Audrey Niffenegger’s The Time Traveler’s Wife
  8. Marie Lu’s Legend
  9. A box containing the first four The Chronicles of Vampire Tod. (which I may have already)
  10. John Green’s An Abundance of Katherines (also may be in a box somewhere)
  11. Hush, Hush (because of a friend’s scathing review)
  12. Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side (the clubbers were talking about this book years ago)
  13. Al Capone Does My Shirts

Anyways I thought the book swap went really well and I had this crazy idea that I should try to circulate the books I’ve read amongst people.  So maybe in the future I’ll post books after I finish them and people can request them or something.
